Mommy, will you play with me?

I have great intentions to actually PLAY with my kids on a daily basis, but more often than not, and many more times than I care to admit, I allow my neverending laundry, errands and other household tasks to get in the way and take precedence and then before I know it, it is bedtime. My bad.

In an attempt to remedy this, I have begun looking at different types of games to play with them. I have run across a company called EEBOO. They produce card games and all sorts of other colorful eye-catching items including a Tea Party Game that I am sure Emily would LOVE. I ordered the Colorful Go Fish and the Old Maid card games, and am very pleased with the quality, altho the price was kind of high. I am thinking of it as an investment....after all, I hope to have grandchildren some day! I am going to order a few items here and there when I have the cash. If any of you know where I could purchase them locally, I would appreciate the info!

We did play the Colorful Go Fish last night, and had a great time. Do any of you ever struggle with fitting in playtime with your kids? How do you make it a priority in your day/ week?

EEBOO. Does look like a good place to find what you are looking for.

I would have like dthe game more if we were not missing a few of the cards already! Lets see if we can find them before game night tonight...

We buy our kids' games at stores like Big Lots and Dollar General. This way it's no biggie when pieces go missing, and they always do.

My kids usually stay right at my elbow while I go about my chores, so they end up "helping" and we always end up talking about whatever is on their minds. It's cheaper than buying games, and I still get my list of chores done.

Hope that helps.

It is funny how the web site seems like it is designed for kids too. I was looking at the go fish link and there was no proce or description. There was just a picture of a pie, and it said "click pie to buy"! LOL.

P.S. I want this for my birthday.

oh, of course, I feel the same way! I think my daughter has heard the phrase "in a minute" way too many times already in her almost 6 years here.

Games are great, though, and they're FUN! We like dominoes and puzzles are good too.

Hmm, I suspect Chris is the additional child in the family ... the one with the bear fetish! Lol!

I've learned that a short investment of 20 mins. playing/spending quality time with my child "buys" me a much larger block of time to get my chores done. so...when I'm busy and she says, "Mom, will you come play with me?" I know that if I go play a few rounds of dominoes or do a puzzle, she's happy, I had fun and then she plays happily by herself for 2 hours :o)
